Cryptocurrency holders are generous.

55 percent of cryptocurrency holders believe that the crypto community is more generous than the general population.

9 in 10 have donated money to a charitable cause, and 63 percent did so within the past year.63 percent said that in an ideal world, they would donate more.Some people hadn’t donated within the past year – only 9 percent of them said charitable giving wasn’t important, and 1 in 4 was still giving back via donations of food, clothing, etc..

They support a wide range of causes.
Some of the most popular were:
  • Children (49 percent)
  • Homelessness (42 percent)
  • Hunger (41 percent)
  • Animals (38 percent)
  • Disaster relief (37.5 percent)
But...

54 percent say it’s hard to find good charitable causes among the ones that don’t live up to their promises. 46 percent say there are too many good causes to choose between.

And they want to leverage their crypto for good.

77 percent of cryptocurrency holders are interested in making charitable donations in crypto. Just over half have already made a donation to a charitable cause in crypto.


62 percent say charitable organizations should embrace cryptocurrencies as a new way to fundraise. Nearly 1 in 4 say they would be more likely to donate to a charitable cause if they could do so in crypto.

So what are they looking for in a crypto donation platform?

When we asked them what would be the most important, the top response was transparency (30.5 percent).1 in 5 would like a direct line of access to the causes they donate to.And 1 in 6 want a way to connect to people who supported the same causes they did.
